The Wisconsin Badgers (4-2, 2-1 in Big Ten) remain unranked heading into Week 8. They were left out of the latest AP Poll following their 42-7 road win over Rutgers.
The Badgers built off their momentum from beating Purdue 52-6 in Week 6, improving to 6-0 all-time against Rutgers. Wisconsin was also left out of the latest US LBM Coaches Poll after the win over the Scarlet Knights, failing to garner any votes for yet another week.
The top five of the AP Poll saw some reorganizing after Week 7, but Texas stayed at No. 1. After beating Ohio State, Oregon moved up to No. 2, while Penn State also went up one spot following their win over USC. Lastly, Georgia at No. 4 and Ohio State at No. 5 rounded out the top five.
The Big Ten teams in the AP Poll top 25 include Oregon at No. 2, Penn State at No. 3, Ohio State at No. 5, Indiana at No. 16, Illinois at No. 22 and Michigan at No. 24.
Wisconsin will attempt to secure a third straight win when they travel to face Northwestern on the road next Saturday at 11:00 a.m. CT.
