4-star Blake Hebert flips commitment from Clemson football, Dabo Swinney to Notre Dame

CLEMSON — Clemson football quarterback commit Blake Hebert flipped his commitment to Notre Dame on Monday.

The four-star quarterback from Brunswick School in Greenwich, Connecticut, committed to the Tigers in June 2023. He is rated as the No. 29 quarterback nationally and the No. 3 prospect in the state by the 247Sports Composite.

Hebert announced his commitment flip via X, formerly known as Twitter:

“I’d like to start by thanking the Clemson coaching staff as well as the program itself for all they have done for me. With that being said, I have chosen to withdraw my commitment and will spend my next 4 years at another institution.”

With Hebert’s decommitment, Clemson has no quarterbacks in its 2025 class, which ranks No. 19 in the nation. The Tigers did not add a quarterback in the 2024 class, either.

Clemson has two quarterback commits in the 2026 cycle, but there won’t be freshman depth behind Cade Klubnik, if he decides to stay for his senior year, and Christopher Vizzina next season if it doesn’t land another quarterback recruit.

Hebert is the third recruit to decommit from the Tigers, joining four-star defensive linemen Bryce Davis and Isaiah Campbell. Davis flipped to ACC rival Duke, and Campbell reopened his recruitment.

After Hebert’s flip, coach Dabo Swinney’s 2025 class has 13 recruits, with nine four stars and four three stars.
