What Arizona coach Brett Brennan said about Deion Sanders, Travis Hunter

Oct 12, 2024; Boulder, Colorado, USA; Colorado Buffaloes head coach Deion Sanders looks from the sidelines during the second half against the Kansas State Wildcats at Folsom Field.

Deion Sanders and the Colorado football team will be looking to get back into the win column this weekend.

The same can be said for Brent Brennan’s Arizona football team, which has lost two straight Big 12 games (vs. Texas Tech, at No. 14 BYU). It’s homecoming week for the Wildcats (3-3) and they host the Buffaloes (4-2) on Saturday with kickoff set for 2 p.m. MT/4 p.m. ET.

Colorado nearly pulled off another comeback in Week 7 but it was No. 18 Kansas State who left Folsom Field with a 31-28 win.

Here’s what Brennan said Monday about Sanders and two-way star Travis Hunter ahead of Saturday’s Big 12 showdown:

Arizona head coach Brent Brennan on Deion Sanders

“I’ve met him a couple times and he’s an awesome guy. He’s really a nice guy, he’s fun to talk to, he’s got interesting perspectives on everything. I hung out with him a little bit at the Big 12 meetings and also at the media day but he’s a really good dude. Obviously, he’s done a great job for that program there. I think it’s really cool to see them making the move they’re making.”

Arizona head coach Brent Brennan on Travis Hunter

“I’ve been impressed with him for years now. I think his impact on the game, his ability to impact both sides of the ball is incredible. That’s one of those challenges when you’re playing this team is that you know he’s on the field.”
