Texas A&M (5-1, 3-0 SEC) will travel to Starkville (MS) on Saturday afternoon for another SEC road test against Mississippi State (1-5, 0-3 SEC), who are currently last place in the conference standings. Behind freshman quarterback Michael Van Buren, the Bulldog’s offense looks much improved after last weekend’s 41-31 road loss to Georgia.
This week, Texas A&M head coach Mike Elko, starting quarterback Conner Weigman, and linebacker Taurean York took questions from the media ahead of the game, as Elko and his team are well aware of the struggles the program has had against Mississippi State over the past six seasons, as the Aggies are 2-4 against the Bulldogs, with just one win in Starkville during the 2020 season.
Despite the 1-5 record, Mississippi State will want to set the tone early, meaning Texas A&M’s pass rush and secondary will need to prevent explosive plays. In contrast, the Aggies must establish the passing game to set up the run, similar to the strategy in the win vs. Missouri.
With six games left on the regular season scedule, here are the toughest games remaining for Texas A&M.
