These stars shined on both sides of the ball: Cast your vote for the Hometeam Football Player of the Week

With the sixth week of high school football in the books, Rich Garven takes a look at some of the top performances.

Congratulations to Quaboag’s Brason Sauriol, who won a close race in last week’s poll, garnering 18,788 votes (43.98 percent) to edge Tantasqua’s Brandon Denham (13,849) for the honor out of over 42,000 votes.

Kayleb Fayard, Monty Tech

The junior fullback got the Bulldogs off to a terrific start as they raced to a 36-20 victory over Sutton. Fayard rushed for a 20-yard touchdown and the ensuing conversion in the first quarter and scored on a 40-yard dash in the second while on his way to gaining 114 yards on 10 carries.

Ethan Frisch, Clinton

The 6-foot, 220-pound senior defensive end was disruptive at the point of attack and in the backfield as the Gaels defeated West Boylston, 29-13. Frisch made 13 tackles and recorded two sacks to give him four QB takedowns on the season, good for second in Central Mass.

Dylan Gallo, Maynard

The 5-foot-10, 160-pound senior quarterback was typically on target as the Tigers topped Groton-Dunstable, 49-15. Gallo was 16 of 22 passing for 222 yards and four first-half touchdowns (5, 1, 43, 10 yards) while rushing for a 32-yard score.

Adam Howe, Tantasqua

The 5-foot-9, 165-pound senior quarterback made plays through the air and on the ground as the Warriors blanked South, 26-0. Howe was 7 of 9 passing for 110 yards and a touchdown (33 yards) and rushed for 74 yards and two TDs…
