Texas A&M has reached the halfway point of the 2024 season, sitting at 5-1 and 3-0 in SEC play after resting during the first two bye weeks this season. Next, the Aggies will travel to Starkville (MS) to face last-place Mississippi State in a game that head coach Mike Elko knows will be much tougher than what the Bulldog’s dismal record shows.

If the Aggies can get past Mississippi State, the 8th-ranked LSU Tigers await a showdown inside what should be a packed Kyle Field with plenty of College Football Playoff implications on the line. This week, the first Playoff projections using the updated AP Poll rankings showed the Aggies still on the outside looking in. Still, with five winnable games before facing Texas remaining, you can’t say Elko’s team isn’t provided ample opportunity to pad their resume.

This Saturday, the Week 8 slate is once again loaded with critical matchups, including the 5th-ranked Georiga traveling to face No. 1-ranked Texas. In contrast, LSU will travel to Fayetteville, facing a tough Arkansas team coming off a bye. Here are the updated Bet MGM CFB Playoff odds before another exciting week.
