Clemson football’s Dabo Swinney recently updated fans on the status of freshman wide receiver Bryant Wesco, who’s been dealing with an injury since the Florida State game on October 5. Wesco missed last weekend’s matchup against Wake Forest, marking the first game he’s been unable to play this season.
Ahead of Saturday’s noon showdown against Virginia at Memorial Stadium, Swinney shared that Wesco has continued to practice but remains uncertain for game day. “He’s been out there every day, taking things day-to-day,” Swinney said. “He’s getting a little better each day.”
Wesco has shown promise in his freshman season, with 11 catches totaling 262 yards and two touchdowns so far. Known for his big-play potential, he averages nearly 24 yards per reception. His performance before the injury included four catches for 24 yards against Florida State. Now, the Tigers are watching closely to see if he’ll be ready to return to the field this weekend.
