Are Purdue football quarterbacks Ryan Browne and Hudson Card both active vs. Oregon?

WEST LAFAYETTE — Ryan Browne should have Purdue football’s quarterback position to himself against No. 2 Oregon, as the Boilermakers’ incumbent starter remains sidelined.

Hudson Card is listed as unavailable on Purdue’s Big Ten-mandated status report. He missed last week’s 50-49 overtime loss at Illinois while in concussion protocol.

Browne threw for 297 yards and three touchdowns and ran for 118 in Card’s place. Purdue coach Ryan Walters said earlier this week Browne would start against the Ducks regardless of Card’s status.

Purdue does not play next week. While concussion symptoms can be wildly unpredictable, Card will have extra time to be cleared prior to a Nov. 2 home game against Northwestern.

Walters said Monday both quarterbacks could play once Card is deemed available.
