Oklahoma State football returns to action on the national stage in Week 8, where it looks to turn around its season and pick up its first Big 12 win of the year.
Fresh off a bye in Week 7, the Cowboys (3-3 overall, 0-3 in Big 12) head back on the road for their first trip up to Provo, Utah to face No. 13 BYU (6-0 overall, 3-0 in Big 12) at LaVell Edwards Stadium. Friday night’s Big 12 contest marks the first Fight Night Lights game of the season for Oklahoma State.
Not only will the Cowboys look to continue getting star running back Ollie Gordon II going, but will also look to snap their three-game losing skid. Oklahoma State is most recently coming off a 38-14 loss to West Virginia back on Oct. 5, before Mike Gundy’s squad went into the bye last week.
The Cougars have been one of the more surprising teams in college football this season, as highlighted by their 6-0 start and rise into the top 15 in the latest US LBM Coaches Poll. BYU is led by first-year starting quarterback Jack Retzlaff, who has thrown for 1,426 yards and 14 touchdowns in six games this season.
