One of the nation’s top 2026 prospects is back on the market. Nashville Christian quarterback Jared Curtis announced his decommitment from Georgia Thursday night.
The No. 9 junior, according to 247Sports, Curtis had been committed to the Bulldogs since March 23. He initially chose Georgia over Alabama, Ohio State, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Tennessee, and Texas.
With his recruitment reopened, what’s next for Curtis? According to On3’s Hayes Fawcett, a few of those schools are back in the mix, along with other possibilities.
Fawcett noted that Curtis mentioned Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oregon, South Carolina, and USC as the six schools that currently stood out to him.
He’s visited each of those schools at least once throughout his recruitment, but for some, it’s been a while since he took trips to any of them. Curtis picked up an offer from USC over the summer and was on campus in Columbia when South Carolina hosted LSU.

Alabama
The last time Curtis was in Tuscaloosa, he visited the Crimson Tide when Nick Saban was running the show. Now Alabama has Kalen DeBoer and an offensive scheme that plays directly into Curtis’ skill set.
Looking at what Michael Penix did for DeBoer at Washington and what Jalen Milroe is doing now, one could see Curtis putting up video game-like numbers for Alabama. Curtis would have to compete with Keelon Russell, the No. 3 overall recruit in the 2025 class, for that starting job eventually. However, that could also be beneficial for both in the long run.
Alabama currently has one commitment in its 2026 class in four-star cornerback Dorian Barney. That number should quickly change as the Tide build what will likely be another…
