Notre Dame should win in Atlanta against the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets at Mercedes-Benz Stadium.
So say the experts.
Your author thinks it will be closer than the experts do, but I, too, expect the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to walk away as winners.
Maybe it’s because Georgia Tech is frisky, or maybe it’s the Notre Dame injuries, but I have worries. On the other hand, the Irish do have more talent than Georgia Tech.
So the Irish should win. Still, it could be a dogfight in the Peach State.
Notre Dame’s playoff hopes do hinge on a victory, so there’s that.

First up, Irish Illustrated’s Kevin Sinclair. He has the Irish winning handily.
“Notre Dame will have the upperhand this weekend, knocking off Georgia Tech in Georgia,” he writes. He thinks ND has an even better shot if Haynes King doesn’t play.
Staying with Irish Illustrated, we see that John Brice is on the same page as his coworker.
“To Notre Dame’s immense credit, it largely has handled relatively seamlessly what’s now fair to call am avalanche of injuries to its two-deep on both sides of the ball, and now also special teams,” he writes. He later adds: “I like the Irish either way, but I like them in a romp if King can’t go or has to exit early due to lingering effects of that arm/elbow injury.”
We end with The Athletic’s Pete Sampson, who also thinks the Irish will have it relatively easy.
“If Notre Dame headed to Atlanta to face a full-strength Georgia Tech, the Yellow Jackets would have a puncher’s chance considering Brent Key’s reputation for surprise knockouts. But even if King did start, he wouldn’t be the do-everything…
