Florida football injury update: RB Montrell Johnson Jr. out for UF against UK, RB Treyaun Webb back

Florida football starting running back Montrell Johnson Jr. is out for UF against Kentucky, but running back Treyaun Webb and left tackle Austin Barber will play against the Wildcats.

Johnson suffered a lower leg injury last week during UF’s 23-17 overtime loss against No. 10 Tennessee.

The 5-foot-11, 216-pound Johnson is the leading rusher for the Florida Gators this season with 70 carries for 373 yards and 4 TDs.

Webb (21 carries, 93 yards, 2 TDs) has missed UF’s last two games with a knee injury and will rotate with freshman running back Jadan Baugh and JUCO transfer Ja’Kobi Jackson to make up for Johnson being out.

Barber was listed as questionable for the second straight week and is dealing with a leg injury that has limited him in practice.

Also out for Florida is safety Asa Turner, long snapper Rocco Underwood and linebacker RJ Moten, Turner has been out since UF’s season opener against Miami, while Underwood and Moten were injured last week against Tennessee.

Florida (3-3, 1-2 SEC) is looking to snap a three-game losing streak against Kentucky (3-3, 1-3 SEC) that dates back to the 2021 season.
