Football roundup: Lonnie Thomas leads Lewiston past Windham

Oct. 19—Jeffrey Randall connected with Lonnie Thomas for a 13-yard touchdown pass with 44.2 seconds remaining, lifting the Blue Devils (3-3) over the Eagles (2-5) in Windham.

It was the third TD catch of the game for Thomas, who got behind Windham’s defense for a 51-yard reception that gave Lewiston a 28-15 lead in the third quarter.

Windham answered with a 2-yard run by quarterback Karl Longstreth late in the third, then went ahead 29-28 on Parker Sperry’s third touchdown run of the game, from the 7, with 6:29 left.

Randall opened the scoring with a 1-yard run in the first quarter. The Blue Devils also got a 2-yard TD run from Khylan Young in the second quarter en route to a 22-15 halftime lead.

Kobi Conant threw five touchdown passes and ran for a score to lead the Patriots (4-3) past the Rebels (1-6) in Gray.

Conant finished 14 of 21 passing for 215 yards, and he ran the ball four times for 55 yards.

Kody Tracy caught four passes for 118 yards and four scores. He also ran for an 18-yard touchdown and returned an interception 38 yards for a TD. Isaac Ormberg had four receptions for 64 yards and two touchdowns, and he ran the ball four times for 52 yards.

Both of Brody Tracy’s catches were for scores, Cole Prescot opened Gray-New Gloucester’s 32-point first quarter with a 48-yard TD reception.

The Hornets kept battling back but were never able to fully overcome a 10-point deficit against the Red Storm in Turner.

Dane Cabral had three touchdown catches, including two on big-yardage plays in the fourth quarter.
