Hutto football overcame a shaky first quarter and the absence of their starting quarterback on Friday night to defeat Stony Point 35-21.
Hippos (4-3, 3-2 in district) backup quarterback Hunter Frenette was in for an injured Kaden Stefek. Frenette threw for 130 yards and ran for 163 yards, including a 59-yard rushing touchdown. Stony Point (2-6, 1-5 in district) quarterback Mason Troyer found the end zone three times in the first quarter but failed to score for the rest of the game. He also threw an interception on the Tigers’ final drive, sealing the Hippos’ win.
