Auburn football held its first SEC win of the season in its grasp, but could not find a way to hold it until the final whistle blew.
Auburn led No. 16 Missouri, 17-14, with less than a minute remaining in Saturday’s contest before relinquishing their advantage to the home-standing Tigers with a four-yard rush from Missouri running back Jamal Roberts with 0:46 to go in the game to ultimately lose, 21-17.
The loss bumps Auburn to 2-5 overall and 0-4 in SEC play. With five games left, the Tigers do not have much time to right the ship if they hope to make a bowl appearance this season.
