Iowa State football rallies from 14-point deficit vs UCF to stay undefeated

AMES − Iowa State football continues to find to a way, as the Cyclones’ undefeated start extended to 7-0 on Saturday night.

They overcame a season-high deficit of 14 points and managed to snatch the lead with 30 seconds remaining in a game they trailed for most of the way. Rocco Becht had a quarterback sneak for a touchdown, plus the ensuing two-point conversion, to cap off the game-winning drive in a 38-35 Big 12 victory over UCF.

Iowa State is 4-0 in conference play for the first time in school history.

The feisty visitors entered with a three-game losing skid but scored the highest number of points by an Iowa State opponent this season. The Cyclones allowed 416 yards, the most they’ve given up this year.
