Lincoln Riley is 3-4 at USC in 2024. He is 5-9 in USC football’s last 14 games. That’s atrocious and beyond unacceptable. It’s a dark, dark time for the Trojans, and the unrest among the fan base is both reasonable and undeniable. USC football fans include the men who used to play for the program, including and especially in the Pete Carroll era Lincoln Riley is failing to re-create. One part of that golden era for USC is LenDale White. After USC’s 29-28 loss to Maryland, White tweeted, “They should probably do him like they did Lane Kiff.”
That’s a clear reference to Lane Kiffin being tired and “tarmac’d” after USC’s blowout loss at Arizona State in 2013, another rock-bottom moment for the USC football program. White also said that Lincoln Riley should be embarrassed. You won’t find a single USC football fan who disagrees with White’s overall sentiment.
We obviously have to consider how this Lincoln Riley situation should be handled at USC. We will discuss that below and also offer reactions from other former USC football players such as Matt Leinart and Su’a Cravens. There is a lot to talk about, that’s for sure:
