BLOOMINGTON – Indiana football’s meteoric rise across the course of the 2024 season will bring College GameDay, ESPN’s flagship pregame program, to Bloomington on Saturday.
It marks the first time the Worldwide Leader has elected to house its long-running college football pregame show at IU on a Saturday. ESPN brought GameDay to campus for the season opener against Ohio State in 2017, with its regular cast of contributors including Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit and former Indiana coach Lee Corso. But the Thursday pregame show is not as involved as its Saturday counterpart, particularly with regard to staple segments like its weekly picks whip-around, with a guest picker on stage.
GameDay’s decision trains perhaps college football’s brightest weekly spotlight on the job Curt Cignetti has done in turning around an Indiana program with nearly as many wins (7) this season as it managed in the previous three combined (9). IU should be ranked in the top 15 in at least one, if not both, polls Sunday, and the Hoosiers’ performances thus far have vaulted them not just to the top of the Big Ten standings, but also into early College Football Playoff consideration.

Indiana football news: Indiana is a serious football team in 2024. Take the Hoosiers lightly at your own peril.
Sunday’s news marks just the latest signal of national interest in and respect for Cignetti’s Hoosiers, who now step into a larger national spotlight than their program has known in some time.
