Why was Seth Littrell fired? Explaining Oklahoma’ decision to remove offensive coordinator

Following back-to-back performances with only one combined touchdown, Oklahoma football reportedly fired offensive coordinator Seth Littrell on Sunday, according to multiple reports.

Littrell, who made it only seven games into his tenure as the play caller, has led one of the worst Oklahoma offenses in recent memory. The Sooners are coming off a 35-9 home loss to South Carolina on Saturday, where starting quarterback Michael Hawkins Jr. surrendered three turnovers in the first five minutes, two of which were returned for touchdowns.

The Oklahoma graduate played fullback for the Sooners from 1997-2000, winning a national championship as a senior.
