The Cincinnati Bearcats step under the Folsom Field lights on Saturday to meet the Colorado Buffaloes in a clash of 5-2 squads who are also 3-1 in Big 12 play. The Buffs cruised by Arizona last weekend and will be searching for a sixth win to give the program a bowl game for the first time in four years.
The Bearcats, meanwhile, are likely overachieving winning only three games last season. Its lone conference loss this year came at Texas Tech by only three points. Cincy’s other loss was a one-point defeat against rival Pitt. Still, the Bearcats’ success hasn’t been talked about much this season.
“If you match up statistically, we’re kind of right there with one another,” CU head coach Deion Sanders said of the Bearcats on Tuesday. “I like what they’re doing. They’re not flashy, it’s not a sexy thing, but they get the job done.”

When the Buffaloes have had early success running the ball, it almost always translates to victory. Isaiah Augustave had 53 yards on 14 carries and a touchdown in his first start with the Buffs against Arizona, earning the start again this week amid nagging injuries that have hampered fellow tailbacks Dallan Hayden and Micah Welch.
