Tale of the Tape: Notre Dame defense vs. Navy offense

We say it every week, but Notre Dame remains a team with a dominant defense. Teams are lucky to get more than a couple of touchdowns against that unit. As long as the Irish approach every game with the seriousness it deserves, that shouldn’t be expected to change. Even with injuries, there are plenty of folks ready to step in.

While Navy has low passing yardage as it tends to do, it’s been dominant in everything else. It explains a lot about why the Midshipmen are 6-0, and they’ve shown no respect to defenses that haven’t been up to the challenge of stopping them despite their best efforts. The Midshipmen haven’t had an offense like this in years.

So something is going to have to give when the Midshipmen have the ball. Hopefully, the Irish’s defense won’t be the unit that folds. While we spend our time thinking about that, here are the numbers to consider:
