Rutgers football vs USC prediction, scouting report as Scarlet Knights look to end losing streak

PISCATAWAY – This hasn’t been a typical week for Rutgers football.

The Scarlet Knights already had a short week, but they also altered their travel schedule to head to Los Angeles on Wednesday to adjust to pacific time ahead of their game against the USC Trojans Friday night at Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.

Needing a victory to snap a three-game losing streak, Rutgers is hoping that puts it in the best possible position to take down the Trojans in the programs’ first meeting.

“At 2:30 in the morning (eastern time), hopefully the game is on the line, and I don’t like my decision-making at 2:30, and I don’t really like our players decision-making at 2:30 either,” Schiano said earlier this week. “So we’ll go out early, and we’ll have some stuff out there on Thursday.”

The Trojans came into the season expected to be one of the top teams in the Big Ten. They certainly had aspirations of making the College Football Playoff.

Instead Lincoln Riley’s team is 3-4, including just 1-4 against Big Ten teams. USC is also on a three-game skid with losses to Minnesota, Penn State and Maryland.

The Scarlet Knights are hoping to hand the Trojans a fourth-straight loss and get their own season back heading in the right direction.
