Scores and updates from Week 9 of Cheboygan-area high school football season

CHEBOYGAN – Week 9 is here.

And we’ve got a great slate as far as Cheboygan-area football games go.

Kicking off things on Thursday are the Pellston Hornets (2-6), who hope to wrap up their season with a victory at Mesick (1-7) in a 7 p.m. clash.

On Friday, a Ski Valley title showdown takes place at Shanley Field between the host Inland Lakes Bulldogs (8-0, 4-0 Ski Valley) and Gaylord St. Mary Snowbirds (7-1, 4-0). Kickoff is at 7 p.m. Earlier in the evening, Onaway (2-6) travels to Cedarville for a 6 p.m. contest.

Wrapping up the week is a crucial game for the Cheboygan Chiefs (4-4), who travel to Benzie Central (2-6) for a 1 p.m. game. If the Chiefs win, they’ll have a shot to make the playoffs.
