STILLWATER — With each passing loss — four in a row now — the Oklahoma State bowl streak of 18 straight years inches closer to a perilous end.
The Cowboys have five chances to get three wins, and the stretch run of the season doesn’t look quite as easy as it once did, regardless of OSU’s struggles.
This week’s opponent, Baylor, is coming off a 59-point offensive outburst, and with the way the OSU defense has been playing, that’s a scary sight.
Arizona State was expected to be a Big 12 bottom-dweller, but the Sun Devils are 5-2. Colorado looks legit. TCU and Texas Tech have enough wins to prove they’re no pushovers.
Where are the Cowboys supposed to find three wins on this schedule?

OSU visits Baylor at 2:30 p.m. Saturday at McLane Stadium in Waco, Texas, looking to start a winning streak that could carry it to the postseason.
But the question looms, how much does a bowl game matter?
“Well, it’s important that we try to do the best we can and grow and win this game,” coach Mike Gundy said Monday when asked about the bowl streak. “If we don’t do that, then it becomes even more difficult.
“I don’t think it would be fair for me to say it’s not important, but most things that go on in society today, somebody’ll talk about them and two days later, nobody cares anymore.”
In that way, Gundy is right. The bowl streak itself, or the value of a bowl victory, are minimal in the big picture.
The benefits are more specific to the current status of the program.
A treat for the team for working so hard throughout…
