Texas football wide receiver Isaiah Bond is now considered doubtful to play for the Longhorns when they take on Vanderbilt on Saturday.
Bond, labeled as questionable on the first SEC-mandated availability report of the week Wednesday, was downgraded to doubtful on Thursday night’s report.
The star receiver suffered an ankle injury in the Longhorns’ Red River Rivalry victory Oct. 12 over Oklahoma that forced him to leave the game in the first half.

He returned to action in Texas’ loss to Georgia last week, but didn’t live up to his usual standard. With 23 receptions for 380 yards and four touchdowns on the season, Bond managed just 11 yards and a touchdown against the Bulldogs.
With a bye week coming after Vanderbilt, Texas coach Steve Sarkisian said the Longhorns are walking a “fine line” as they decide what to do with Bond, knowing the extra week of rest could get him healthy for the season’s stretch run.

Safety Andrew Mukuba was also listed as doubtful on Thursday’s report.
In a positive devolopment for the Longhorns, running back Quintrevion Wisner is no longer present on the report.
