WATCH: Urbandale football pulls off 80-yard hook-and-ladder touchdown vs Ankeny Centennial

Down 35-0 to Ankeny Centennial in Week 9 of the Iowa high school football season, Urbandale had to dig deep into its bag of tricks.

The J-Hawks needed a spark and decided to call the classic “hook-and-ladder” trick play, and executed it to perfection for an 80-yard touchdown.

Senior Elijah Hoyt took the toss down the right sideline all the way to the end zone, going untouched in the process.

Centennial, however, soon responded to the score with another TD of its own, growing its lead to 42-7 just before halftime.
