In week 10 of the Lancaster-Lebanon football season, many teams had much on the line.
However, in Section 1, Wilson and Manheim Township were fighting for the section title and a bye in the District 3 Class 6A playoffs.
The matchup between two heavyweight teams backed up the hype throughout the week.
The Bulldogs came out on top over the Blue Streaks 34-16 on Friday at Gene Kruis Field at War Memorial Stadium.

“Awesome,” senior quarterback Madyx Gruber said of winning the section title. “This is what we worked for all season, and we knew we could make it. But we’re not done yet.”
Wilson (6-0, 9-1) handed Manheim Township (5-1, 9-1) their first loss of the season as they were outscoring opponents 252-69 coming into the game.
“This one felt really good because they were favorited all year,” Bulldogs coach Doug Dahms said. “They had their whole offensive line back. They had three studs on the defensive line. They had (Declan) Clancy in the backfield as well as at linebacker.”
“We were coming in with seven underclassmen on both sides of the ball, and only two or three kids that played last year. So the kids bought into the game plan, and the offensive staff did a great job with the game plan. The defensive staff did a great job with the game plan, and the kids executed.”
Clancy, a senior for the Blue Streaks, broke the all-time season rushing record in 2024 but had limited big plays against the Bulldogs which projected them to a huge win.
“I would say the defense,” Gruber said of what led them to a win. “Our defense just played phenomenal, to be honest with you. I just thought our defense was the turning point.”
