Franklin is back in force. Panthers senior Chris Ianelli was voted the Week 6 Daily News High School Football player of the Week after his defensive efforts in a 14-7 victory over Attleboro.

Ianelli made eight tackles including two tackles for loss. He also broke up a pass to help Franklin secure its fifth consecutive win. That helped him garner 41.46 percent of the more than 17,000 votes cast. He held off Algonquin’s Owen Ellsworth, who set a school record with more than 300 yards rushing and three touchdowns, by less than 1,000 votes.
