STILLWATER — It’s hard to find positives with this Oklahoma State football team lately, but safety Kobe Hylton has provided a silver lining in recent weeks.
Both his own improving health and the injuries of players around him have led to a big jump in playing time for the UTEP transfer, who was on the field for 58 of Baylor’s 62 offensive snaps.
Hylton also had his first career interception at the Division I level. His last interception came in 2020 when he was playing for Northeastern Oklahoma A&M.
Hylton was also one of OSU’s most reliable tacklers on Saturday when he got opportunities.

Rodney Fields Jr., running back: The true freshman saw meaningful action for a second straight week, finishing as OSU’s No. 2 rusher behind Ollie Gordon II with five carries for 19 yards and two catches for 23 yards.
Justin Wright, linebacker: After a rough first game back from a 14-month injury absence, Wright upped his impact and his snap count. He had two tackles in 22 snaps, though his importance could continue to grow down the stretch.
Stock falling
Tackling: Coach Mike Gundy offered his official statistics on the Cowboys’ tackling difficulties Monday — 21 missed tackles that led to 258 of Baylor’s 565 total yards. According to Pro Football Focus analytics, the Cowboys have graded at below 50 in tackling the past three games.
