What was once one of the best recruiting classes in UCF history is starting to fall by the wayside.
With the firing of defensive coordinator Ted Roof on Monday, the Knights have lost three of their top defensive commits in the last 72 hours and look poised to lose even more after extending their current skid to five straight losses.

Christian Hudson was the first to see the writing on the wall. The three-star defensive lineman out of Mainland flipped to Colorado on Oct. 25. Following closely behind was Pace EDGE Tylon Lee.
Lee was in Oxford for Ole Miss’ win over Oklahoma and flipped to the Rebels on Oct. 27.
UCF announced Roof’s dismissal on Monday then Armwood linebacker Cameron White shared that he was reopening his recruitment just four hours later because of Roof’s departure.
With White’s decision, the Knights have now lost three defensive commits in three days, and four players total in the last month.

The Knights’ on-field production (or lack thereof) is finally catching up to them on the recruiting trail.
UCF ranks 106th in the nation in third down stops and ranks 115th in sacks while giving up 30 or more points in four different games. For some recruits, watching BYU hang 480 yards of total offense was the last straw.
Hudson was originally locked in with the Knights. That was until Colorado came into the fold. He took an official visit on Oct. 11 and flipped to the Buffaloes one day before UCF fell to BYU.
