Texas A&M football recruiting: Samu Moala, 4-star LB, commits to Aggies

Texas A&M football landed another 2026 recruit Sunday when four-star linebacker Samu Moala announced his commitment, one day after four-star prospects Jordan Carter and Aaron Gregory pledged.

A Lawndale, California native, Moala attends Leuzinger High School and is the 14th-ranked edge in the Class of 2026 and the 20th-ranked player in California, according to the 247Sports Composite. He chose Texas A&M over Alabama, Auburn, BYU and Arizona.

Texas A&M Aggies head coach Mike Elko walks down the sideline during the first half against the Mississippi State Bulldogs on Oct. 19, 2024 at Davis Wade Stadium at Scott Field in Starkville, Mississippi.

Carter and Gregory committed right after the Aggies’ win over the No. 9 LSU Tigers to maintain first place in the SEC. In the postgame press conference, Texas A&M coach Mike Elko made a strong statement about the culture of the program. Gregory is the No. 6 wide receiver in the Class of 2026 while Carter is the third-ranked edge rusher.

“This is a real program,” Elko told reporters after the game. “It is not fake. It is not a politician running this program, talking fast and BSing everybody. This is a real program. And for all the recruits out there, this is a real place.”

After these commitments, Texas A&M’s recruiting class ranks second in the country for 2026.
