Florida State football is set to face North Carolina in its final ACC game of the season.
FSU is coming off a 36-14 loss to Miami and the team is looking to avoid a fifth straight loss. North Carolina broke a four-game losing streak in its last game, beating Virginia 41-14 to improve to 4-4 this season.
North Carolina head coach Mack Brown played running back at FSU and started his coaching career with the Seminoles as a graduate assistant.
While it will be a homecoming for Brown, he has had little success against his alma mater, recording an 0-11 record all-time vs. FSU. The Seminoles have a 17-3-1 record vs. the Tar Heels all time, winning the last two games.
The Seminoles kick off at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday against the Tar Heels. Here are the Tallahassee Democrat’s FSU beat writers Liam Rooney and Peter Holland Jr’s game picks.

The Seminoles’ year of unfortunate firsts continues as Brown gets his first win over his alma mater and FSU loses its fifth straight game.
Hampton exploits the soft FSU run defense, recording over 100 yards again to bolster the Tar Heels to a two-score victory. The Seminoles hold the North Carolina offense to below its scoring average of 34 points per game, however, with the offensive struggles continuing, the defense eventually gets overwhelmed and the relentless Hampton takes advantage.
Both Brock Glenn and Luke Kromenhoek split snaps again. Glenn starts the game and plays the first few series before Kromenhoek’s entry, similar to the Miami game.
Glenn went 5-of-18 for 54 yards and a touchdown…
