The Georgia Bulldogs are trying flip four-star Auburn Tigers cornerback commitment Donovan Starr. Starr is a member of the class of 2025 and has been committed to Auburn since early June.

The 6-foot, 175-pound cornerback plays high school football for Ravenwood High School in Brentwood, Tennessee. Starr is the top ranked recruit in Tennessee and the No. 129 recruit in the nation, per 247Sports. Starr is the No. 16 cornerback recruit in the country.

How is Georgia trying to flip Starr? Well, the Bulldogs recently offered a scholarship to Starr very late in the class of 2025 recruiting process. Starr appeals to Georgia for several reasons.

First of all, Starr is an excellent athlete. He recently posted a blazing fast GPS speed of 22.7 miles per hour. Speed like that is something Georgia head coach Kirby Smart loves.

Additionally, Georgia could lose four-star cornerback commitment Shamari Earls, who is projected to flip to Michigan. If Earls decommits, then Georgia will be down to just one cornerback commitment in four-star Jontae Gilbert. Regardless of Earls’ decision, Georgia may want to sign more than two cornerbacks in the 2025 cycle.
