MADISON – The twists and turns continue for the Wisconsin football program on the recruiting trail.
Brenden Anes, a 6-foot-3, 225-pound outside linebacker from Page High School in Franklin, Tennessee, announced his commitment to Tennessee on Thursday evening, decommitting for the Badgers’ 2025 class.
Anes committed to UW in January, bypassing offers from closer-to-home programs like Vanderbilt and Tennessee.
He announced the news on X, first thanking UW outside linebackers coach Matt Mitchell, defensive coordinator Mike Tressel and director of player personnel Max Stienecker, and then announcing his commitment to the Volunteers.
“Thank you (linebackers) Coach (William) Inge & (head) Coach (Josh) Heupel for this opportunity to stay HOME and protect the checkerboards,” Anes wrote. “Let’s work!”
This week has been filed with flips on the recruiting trail for Wisconsin.
Tuesday, Oconomowoc tight end Emmett Bork, a former Michigan State recruit, announced his commitment to Wisconsin. About three hours later, Wilnerson Telemaque, a defensive lineman from Miami who committed to the Badgers in June, announced he was re-opening his recruitment.
The Badgers have 23 known recruits in their 2025 recruiting class.
