Oklahoma football looks to get back in the win column when it faces FCS opponent Maine on Saturday.
The Sooners (4-4, 1-4 SEC) have lost three consecutive games, each of which have come by double digits to Texas, South Carolina and Ole Miss. Awaiting them are the Black Bears (4-4), whom Oklahoma is paying $635,000 to come to Norman on Saturday.
Oklahoma quarterback Jackson Arnold played his best game of the season on Saturday in his first game with interim offensive coordinator Joe Jon Finley, completing 22 of 31 passes for 182 yards with two touchdowns, along with 39 rushing yards.
The game is obviously a must-win for Oklahoma and coach Brent Venables, as they’re still two wins from reaching bowl eligibility. Their other remaining games are against ranked foes in No. 23 Missouri, No. 14 Alabama and No. 16 LSU this season.
