Michigan football now knows when it will get a chance to respond from Saturday’s 38-17 loss to Oregon.
The Wolverines (5-5, 3-3 Big Ten) will travel to Bloomington, Indiana, next week to take on undefeated Indiana (9-0, 6-0 Big Ten) at 3:30 p.m. with the game to be broadcast on CBS. The Hoosiers entered Week 10 ranked No. 13 in the coaches poll and figure to be on the rise after they defeated Michigan State, 47-10, in East Lansing.
Meanwhile, Michigan has to find a way to get off the mat from its first 21-point loss in Big Ten play since it fell 49-11 to Wisconsin in 2020.
Michigan running back Donovan Edwards (7) runs against Oregon linebacker Bryce Boettcher (28) during the first half at Michigan Stadium in Ann Arbor on Saturday, Nov. 2, 2024.
MICHIGAN GRADES: Coaches fare the worst with key replay blunders
It was a tough day all around for the Wolverines on Saturday, as they were outgained by 200 yards and gave up 10 third-down conversions in 15 opportunities on defense.
On offense, Michigan opened with punts on four of five possessions. On defense, Michigan opened allowing touchdowns on four of five possessions. Soon, it was 28-10 and the game was all but over by the break.
The task doesn’t get any easier next Saturday afternoon against coach Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers, who have scored 31 points or more in all eight games this year and 41 or more in five of six Big Ten games.
