Section 1 football: Who is your pick for lohud player of the week?

We’re spotlighting players who had an impact on the previous weekend.

Review all our finalists got done in between the lines over the weekend, then vote for the player you believe was a game-changer. The poll will remain open until 3 p.m. Wednesday and we’ll announce the winner on social media.

Tyler Marescot (Byram Hills); Luke Foisset (Valhalla); Tre Ficarra (Brewster); Nicholas DiNapoli (Westlake); Kyle Pinto (Mahopac), Caden Glenn (Putnam Valley), Jameson Blakeslee (Greeley) and Tyler Galante (Yorktown).

Kaden Gonzalez, Yorktown

The senior quarterback completed 14 of 16 passing attempts for 230 yards and five touchdowns. He also re-established his own single-season record for TD passes passes (24) and ran for 55 yards and one touchdown in a playoff win over Eastchester.

Miguel Iglesias, Somers

The senior quarterback completed 19 of 22 passes for 234 yards and two touchdowns in a playoff win over Clarkstown South. He also ran for 48 yards and one touchdown on eight carries.

Jake Kessner, Rye

The senior linebacker and tight end caught five passes for 107 yards and took an interception back 55 yards for a score in a playoff win over Brewster.

King Mercer, Carmel

The junior tackle and defensive end finished with six pancake blocks in a playoff win over Arlington. He also delivered four tackles, two pass break-ups and a blocked PAT.

Bryan Moulard, Valhalla

The senior running back returned a kickoff 96 yards for a touchdown, brought an interception back 75 yards for a TD and ran for 47 yards and one TD on four carries in a win over Putnam Valley in the regular-season finale.

Patrick Ryan, John Jay-Cross River
