One of the SEC’s top rivalry matchups will officially be renewed Saturday in Baton Rouge, as the Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers collide for yet another ranked showdown with massive stakes on the line.

Two programs that are certainly not unfamiliar with each other, Alabama and LSU have played some of the greatest college football games over the last decade-plus, and has consistently been one of the premier matchups that the sport has to offer.

When taking a look at the overall history of this series as well, it’s clear just how strong of a matchup Alabama vs. LSU has been.

A series that dates back to 1895, Alabama owns a 56-27-5 all-time advantage over LSU head-to-head, as well as a 29-10-3 edge in games which are played away from Tuscaloosa.

The Crimson Tide also owned this series during the Nick Saban era, carrying a 13-5 advantage over that span that included an eight-game winning streak from 2011-18. That streak began in arguably the most high-profile matchup between the two ever, coming via a 21-0 Alabama victory in New Orleans during the 2011 national championship game.

In recent years, the Crimson Tide and Tigers have split the last two meetings, which includes a 42-28 victory for Alabama a year ago in Tuscaloosa.

LSU however won the most recent game in Baton Rouge by a final score of 32-31 back in 2022, which was the Tigers first win at home since 2010.

A head-to-head matchup that Alabama has owned historically, as well as had success in recent years, will the Crimson Tide make it two-straight over LSU on Saturday night?
