Week 10 of the college football season saw its fair share of upsets and massive shakeups in conference standings, particularly in the Big 12. With the first College Football Playoff rankings set to be revealed Tuesday night, bowl games are becoming a greater topic of discussion.
The biggest winners within the Big 12 over the weekend may have been teams that didn’t play at all, as BYU and Colorado benefited from Iowa State falling to Texas Tech and Kansas State losing to Houston. Once the dust settled, the Buffaloes slid into a tie for second place.

On Monday, USA TODAY Sports writer Erick Smith released his updated college football bowl projections. Here’s a look at where every Big 12 team stood:

The Cougars making the CFP would’ve been an unthinkable accomplishment in July as they were picked to finish 13th in the preseason Big 12 media poll.
