After 10 weeks of action, we now officially know where each team stands in the all-important College Football Playoff (CFP) rankings.
Yes, on Tuesday night, the initial CFP rankings for the inaugural 12-team playoff were revealed live at 7 p.m. ET on ESPN, as they showed the current Top 25 overall teams in college football according to the committee. Included in this ranking were the Alabama Crimson Tide, who sat at No. 11 in the College Football Playoff rankings on Tuesday night.
So, as we now know just what the Top 25 looks like, let’s take a look at what the bracket for the 12-team would look like if the College Football Playoff started tomorrow, as well as who Alabama would play if the CFP started today:
No. 1 Seed: Oregon Ducks

College Football Playoff Ranking: No. 1
2024 Record: 9-0 overall (6-0 in Big Ten)
The Oregon Ducks held the same spot in the College Football Playoff rankings that they currently do in both the AP and Coaches Poll’s, which is at No. 1 overall. Oregon would be the No. 1 overall seed if the CFP began today, getting a first round bye as the presumed Big Ten champion.
No. 2 Seed: Georgia Bulldogs
