Florida football is facing Texas for the first time since 1940, and the Florida Gators (4-4, 2-3 SEC) will enter their matchup with the No. 5 Longhorns on Saturday at Darrel K Royal-Texas Memorial Stadium at 21,5-point underdogs (per BetMGM).
In this week’s Swampcast, the Sun’s Kevin Brockway and David Whitley discuss whether Florida can regroup from a loss to rival Georgia and pull off a monumental upset despite mounting injuries.

If Lagway can’t go, Florida will turn to third-string quarterback Aidan Warner, who went 7-fot-22 for 66 yards and an interception in relief of Lagway against UGA. Brockway said it will be fairer to judge Warner this week based on him getting first-team reps in practice.
“When you talk to Florida players, they seem to believe in Warner, they think he’s got a big arm, and he’s got a little mobility and that he’s going to be a capable quarterback,” Brockway said.
Later, Brockway and Whitley were joined by Texas beat writer David Eckert of the Austin American-Statesman, who discussed how the Longhorns (7-1, 3-1 SEC) have transitioned into the SEC under fourth-year coach Steve Sarkisian.
“Texas’s defensive line is probably one of the five best in the SEC,” Eckert said. “It’s not elite from a pass rushing perspective but it’s very good at…
