What was already a wild and wide-open race for a coveted spot in the Big 12 championship game received some new twists in Week 11 of the 2024 college football season.
Most notably, No. 18 Iowa State suffered its second-consecutive loss, this one coming at the hands of Kansas in a 45-36 setback at Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City. With the most recent defeat, the Cyclones, who were undefeated and ranked No. 10 in the US LBM Coaches Poll after Week 9, are now outside of the top two spots in the conference standings.

The same can’t be said for coach Deion Sanders and No. 24 Colorado, which improved to 7-2 overall and 5-1 in conference play with a 41-27 road victory against Texas Tech. With their sixth victory in their past seven games, the Buffaloes moved into sole possession of second place in the Big 12.
No. 9 BYU continued its undefeated march through the season with a 22-21 victory against archrival Utah in the latest installment of “the Holy War.” The Cougars are now 9-0 this season, with only one of its final three regular-season games coming against a team that currently has a winning record.
