BLOOMINGTON — Indiana football receiver Ke’Shawn Williiams took a few seconds to look around Memorial Stadium at the sold out crowd of 53,082 fans waving their towels as the offense lined up in the victory formation.
The No. 8 Hoosiers (10-0; 7-0 Big Ten) were putting the finishing touches on a 20-15 win over Michigan and he wanted to take a moment to appreciate the program’s historic start.
“It’s just special,” Williams said, with a smile. “It’s just special.”
Williams helped make it possible too.
He had a 22-yard punt return — IU’s longest gain of the second half — with less than six minutes to go in the game that set up a critical 41-yard field goal from Nicolas Radicic. Williams stepped into the role for fellow receiver Myles Price, who suffered an injury at the end of the second quarter.
“It takes all three units,” Williams said.

Williams sprinted 10-yards up the field to catch the ball as it drifted towards IU’s sideline. He had very little room to operate, but created immediate daylight by splitting a pair of defenders at midfield with a burst of speed.
Michigan’s coverage team misjudged Williams’ athleticism as he cut back up the field.
He hopped over the outstretched arms of defensive back Ricky Johnson, baited linebacker Jack MacKinnon into trying to make a diving stop and side-stepped punter Tommy Doman when he lowered his shoulder to try and make the stop.
