VOTE: YMCA Week 12 South Bend Tribune High School Football Player of the Week

It’s now time to vote for the Week 12 South Bend Tribune High School Football Player of the Week, presented by the YMCA of Greater Michiana!

Five players — four from IHSAA sectional championship games and one from a MHSAA district championship contest — are nominated. Voting will remain open until 11:59 p.m. Thursday, November 14. Here are the nominees, in alphabetical order by school.

Concord senior Jaron Thomas

Although it ended up being a heartbreaking 31-28 loss for the Minutemen to Warsaw in a Class 5A sectional title tilt, Thomas had one final performance to remember in a Concord uniform. He only needed six rushing attempts to accumulate 146 yards and two touchdowns, with the scores going for 79 and 54 yards respectively.

Mishawaka senior Jackson Snyder

Snyder made two of the biggest plays in the Cavemen’s 22-21 victory over NorthWood in the Class 4A, Sectional 18 championship game. On defense, he had a fourth-quarter interception in the end zone that kept it a 21-14 game at the time. In the game’s final moments, he would catch a 14-yard touchdown pass, which setup his brother, Landon, to run in the game-winning two-point conversion. For the game, Jackson finished with 64 yards rushing and 28 yards receiving with the touchdown on offense, plus 10 tackles and the interception on defense.

New Prairie junior Reed Robinson

Robinson was once again sensational for the Cougars this week, throwing for a career-high 189 yards and two touchdowns while adding 116 rushing yards and two scores on the ground in a 35-23 victory over Hanover Central in a Class 4A, Sectional 17…
