LSU football had a star-packed group of recruits on hand last weekend. The hope was to show off the best atmosphere in college football, but the air was let out of the balloon with a 42-13 Alabama victory.
LSU’s 2025 class is shaping up to be one of the best in the country. Three five stars are headlining the class, there’s depth at positions of need, and LSU took care of business with in-state prospects.
Despite the loss knocking LSU out of the playoff picture, LSU still has momentum on the recruiting trail.
Rivals’ reporter Sam Spiegelman took to social media to write, “Five-star QB Bryce Underwood returned to LSU for an official visit this weekend and there is a growing expectation that the elite passer will sign with the Tigers next month.”
The report comes amid speculation that Michigan’s NIL offer will be strong enough to keep the Michigan native home.
Elsewhere, On3’s Steve Wiltfong reported that five-star corner DJ Pickett is locked in with LSU after speaking to Pickett’s father.
Underwood and Pickett are the two most important pieces of LSU’s class. Both are five stars and play key positions. Underwood is the type of QB prospect you can build a national title team around. Pickett gives LSU the talent in the secondary that it desperately needs.
Schools won’t give up on trying to flip the big-time prospects, but LSU fans should feel increasingly confident that both make it to Baton Rouge.
