Five Razorbacks to fear as Longhorns prepare for Arkansas

The No. 3 Texas Longhorns travel to Fayetteville to take on the Arkansas Razorbacks on Saturday. This will be the first conference game between the old rivals since the early 90’s when both teams were in the Southwest Conference.

Arkansas is 5-4 on the season, 3-3 within the SEC. The Hogs have had an up and down season, but the Razorbacks have a couple skins on the wall. Arkansas scored a huge 19-14 upset at home against the No. 6 Tennessee Volunteers. They’ve also beaten Mississippi State and Auburn in conference. The Hogs also came close to upsetting Texas A&M.

Historically, Texas takes the lead in all-time matchups, 56-23. There have only been two matchups since 2008, both won by Arkansas, including the famous “Welcome to the SEC” game in 2021 when the Hogs hammered the Horns 40-21.

As the rivalry renews and the Longhorns aim for revenge, here are the key players to keep an eye on the Arkansas roster.

1. QB Taylen Green

The Razorbacks’ starting quarterback, Green has completed 56.5% of his passes for 1,502 yards, five touchdowns, and five interceptions. He also ranks 15th in the SEC with 81 rushes for 326 yards and four touchdowns on the ground. He had a stellar performance this season against Mississippi State, where he threw his second 300+ yard game of the year and had a 79.3% completion rate.

The Lewisville, TX product has had his fair share of injuries however, Green suffered a knee sprain early versus Ole Miss, only being able to record 10 completions out of 14 total…
