Highlighting the area’s best on the East District Football team

Strong seasons throughout the Muskingum Valley and Coshocton County led to numerous honors on the East District Football team.

The squads were selected by media within the East District.

Tri-Valley senior quarterback Max Lyall was voted the Division III Offensive Player of the Year. He threw for 2,416 yards and had 34 touchdowns to three interceptions this season.

Joining Lyall on the First Team were Tri-Valley teammates, senior running back Jayden Wallace, senior wide receiver Keaton Hahn, senior offensive lineman Gavin Spiker, senior kicker Bode McCullough, senior defensive linemen Ashton Winner and Chris Gargasz and junior defensive back Ryan Lamonica.

John Glenn senior running back Lincoln Gilcher, senior offensive lineman Jake DeMattio, senior kicker Will Nicolozakes, senior defensive lineman Tanner Whiteman, senior linebacker Gavyn Garber and senior defensive backs Andrew Glaub and Kole Robinson also received First-Team mention.

Wallace had nearly 1,200 total yards with 17 TDs; Hahn finished with 44 catches, 959 yards and 18 TDs; McCullough made 59 of 60 extra points; Gargasz had 47 tackles, eight sacks and 5.5 tackles for a loss; Winner totaled 48 tackles, 10.5 tackles for a loss and four sacks; and Lamonica finished with nine interceptions, 32.5 tackles and three pass breakups, along with 27 catches for 753 yards and 10 TDs on offense for the Scotties.
