The return of the College Football Playoff rankings did not encourage the status quo to remain in place.
Heading into the second edition of the CFP selection committee rankings, two of the teams slotted among the top five last week suffered losses during Week 11 of the 2024 college football season. That means there is guaranteed to be movement on Tuesday night when a new CFP top 25 is officially revealed.
Oregon will almost certainly remain at No. 1, but how the selection committee sorts through the abundance of two-loss SEC teams at the moment, how undefeated Indiana is treated, as well as how Miami and SMU of the ACC stack up, are among the intriguing storylines to watch. With an expanded playoff field this year, there are a lot more teams in the mix in November than ever before.
