LSU’s college football playoff chances took a hit with its loss to Alabama, but the Tigers are expected to remain in the top 25.

The latest rankings will drop on Tuesday night. LSU was at No. 15 last week but is sure to fall a few spots.

LSU was hoping a win over Alabama could catapult the Tigers back into the playoff race, but now LSU’s goal shifts to notching another 10-win season.

LSU is right where it was last year at this time. 6-3 and coming off a loss to Alabama heading into the Florida game. LSU was able to bounce back and beat the Gators last year behind a superhero performance from Jayden Daniels. LSU doesn’t have Daniels to count on this year.

How LSU finishes the year will show the makeup of this team. We’ve seen previous LSU teams mail it in after a loss to Bama ended national title hopes, but that hasn’t been an issue in recent years.
