Among several gems from Joe Burrow’s revealing press conference Wednesday: The Bengals’ quarterback said Los Angeles Chargers first-year head coach Jim Harbaugh tried to recruit Burrow when Harbaugh was the head coach of the Michigan Wolverines, after Burrow already had committed to Ohio State.
Burrow talked about Harbaugh reaching out to him ahead of an NFL Week 11 Sunday Night Football matchup between the Bengals and Chargers at SoFi Stadium.

“He had just got the job at Michigan that January after that (2014) season,” Burrow explained. “I had been committed to Ohio State for five or six months at that point. So I think Coach (Harbaugh) was trying to make a big splash trying to flip the Ohio State quarterback commit. I’m not entirely sure he knew exactly who I was or what I could do at that point. I think he was just trying to make a little splash there.”
During the same press conference, Burrow apologized for using the F-bomb in discussing how teammate and receiver Ja’Marr Chase expresses to Burrow that he’s open.
